A freight train derailment was reported on Friday afternoon in the South Deering neighborhood on Chicago’s Far South Side.
The victim was removing snow on the station's south platform when the equipment he was driving was hit by an eastbound freight train, a city spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the man, whose age was not released, was inside the car and was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in unknown condition.
